REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE
The world generates 2.01 billion tonnes of municipal solid waste annually, with at least 33 percent of that—extremely conservatively—not managed in an environmentally safe manner. Worldwide, waste generated per person per day averages 0.74 kilogram but ranges widely, from 0.11 to 4.54 kilograms.
Waste management has been recognized as one of the biggest problems and dangers for the environment. We think it is necessary to raise consciousness of people about the importance of proper waste management. That is why our moto is „REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE“. Through many TINY STEPS we make in our schools and local communities we want to draw attention to this problem and offer our solution which will contribute to GREAT CHANGES. We want our peers and our teachers, as well as our citizens to become aware that less waste means less pollution.
Firstly, we had organized various activities in Waste Management Campaigns in our schools and when we all met in Portugal, we jointly thought, designed, wrote, recorded and edited a video as our final product to promote the use of more sustainable containers which would help reduce the amount of waste in our schools and our communities.
