MOBILITY TO SERBIA
In the period from 27 February - 03 March 2023 the Secondary School of Economics "9.maj" from Sremska Mitrovica was the host of the fourth mobility of the Erasmus + project "Tiny Steps for Great Changes. The theme of this mobility was healthy eating under the slogan "You are what you eat". On the first day the partner schools presented their activities and compared the results of the survey on knowledge of healthy eating and eating habits of students. In the afternoon, a tour of the Imperial City was organized, which started from the small church of St. Stefan through Žitni trg to the Imperial Palace and the central square. After the tour of the city, students in international groups participated in the game "solving puzzles". The task was to solve a riddle related to one of the landmarks of the city, find it and take a photo. The guests, accompanied by their hosts, spent the second day of mobility in the capital of Serbia, Belgrade. They visited the temple of St. Sava, Botanical Garden, Knez Mihajlova Street and Kalemegdan. On the third day, activities were organized in the school. The activity by which the host brought his culture and tradition closer was a workshop where the guests were introduced to our Cyrillic alphabet and learned to read it with the help of the host. The lecture, held by former school teacher and IT programmer Đorđe Karaklić, was about one of the most important environmental problems, which is excess food in restaurants that becomes waste. He presented his thesis, an application for distributing surplus food in restaurants to individuals and humanitarian organizations at symbolic prices. In the afternoon, a culinary workshop was held where the participants in the project prepared four healthy salads that combined ingredients from all five participating countries. They also learned how to prepare a healthy meal "to take away" that would allow them to eat properly even when they are not at home. The fourth day started with a visit to the special nature reserve Zasavica, where the participants learned about the production of organic food within this reserve. The day continued with a workshop in which the groups made a calendar for 2023 with the motives of this mobility and foods with geographical origin from all five states. In the evening, a formal dinner was held for all participants, where certificates were distributed. On the fifth day, they visited the museum of the famous footballer Bane Ivanovic. A creative workshop was also held in which decorative objects were made from recycled metal: cans, corks... The last activity in this mobility was writing the fourth stanza for the "Anthem to Sustainability" and the participants chose the best one by voting.
